Sunday, March 13, 2022, marked the day that Tom Brady said he had unfinished business to take care of.
These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Unfinished business LFG pic.twitter.com/U0yhRKVKVm

The seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback didn’t say what that unfinished business was.
However, it’s safe to say he wants one more Super Bowl ring.
In his first season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brady was able to win Super Bowl 55 with the team.
However, in his second year, Brady came up short with the team, losing to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Divisional Round.
That was when Brady signaled that he had played his last game in the NFL.
People are asking questions now that Brady is back trying to collect Super Bowl rings like Thanos collecting infinity stones for his glove.

Why would Brady retire in the first place if he was coming back?
Could Age Have Been A Factor?
When Brady announced his “retirement,” he was 44 years old.
Brady will be 45 when the NFL kicks off in 2022.
He will also be the oldest player on the field, beating the next oldest by nearly five years.
The NFL is also a demanding sport to play in.
The average retirement age is 27.6 in the NFL.
Taking hard hits is what ended quarterback Andrew Luck‘s career.
Brady knows what it’s like to be injured in the NFL.
A Week 1 play in 2008 ended with Brady having a torn ACL and MCL, ending his season.
Maybe, at that time, Brady was looking to protect himself from being injured playing one more season of football.
Did Brady Want To Focus On His Family?
The NFL isn’t just a demanding sport to play in.
It also takes players away from their families.
An 18-week regular season, followed by three weeks of playoff games and ending with the Super Bowl, is a long haul for any player.
Other things like OTAs and preseason games add even more away time from the family.
With Brady having three children and not getting younger, he might have thought about them.
However, Tampa Bay is where Brady and his family currently live.
That can give Brady some time with the family on weeks that Tampa Bay has home games.
Happy Wife Happy Life: The Role Gisele Bündchen Might Have Played In Retirement
Everyone married knows the expression “Happy wife, happy life.”
Brady’s wife has always been supportive of the star quarterback’s endeavors.
She even shared her heartfelt message about Brady after he announced his retirement.
When Brady tweeted about his retirement, he mentioned other things that required his attention.

The tweet thread never said what those things were, so answer is pure speculation.
What We Do Know
We know that football is a demanding sport to play.
It takes a lot of mental, emotional, and physical grit to play in the NFL.
Brady has all of those things in his background as a player.
But 22 years in the NFL is going to wear a person down.
Regardless of age, family, or his wife possibly being reasons for his retirement, he still feels the fire inside to keep playing.
And he has a supportive family by his side.
