Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout is, without question, the best player MLB has seen since the start of 2010.

He made his MLB debut in 2011 and established himself as a star in 2012, but he has been so good that he probably doesn’t need those two years for us to say he has been the most consistently great producer in the league since the start of last decade.

Some say he is not the most popular or “marketable” athlete in the league, and that’s certainly a discussion worth having.

But there is no denying that he is a role model for kids around the country.

Thousands of them.

@MikeTrout out here making dreams come true at the @whitesox vs @Angels game,” Southside Jake tweeted.

In the video, Trout is shown gifting a ball to a young fan, through his dad.

The child was wearing Angels’ gear (a Trout jersey), while the parents were wearing Chicago White Sox gear.

It was a cool moment: the star giving the family a ball, and fulfilling a child’s dream.

Those few seconds that the outfielder invested in the moment will probably last forever in that young fan’s mind.

A Grateful Family

The father was extremely grateful with the star, and that made for a really cool moment.

In fact, in the tweet’s replies, the grateful father appeared and left a heartfelt message.

“That was us!!! A night hell never forget! Thanks for the video!” the guy tweeted, from his account named “Swinging Bunt”.

Trout, who is off to an excellent start at the plate this year with a 1.179 OPS, knows the impact his actions have on the youth.

He is the idol and role model for lots of kids, and usually acts like one.

Kudos to him.
