The Boston Red Sox haven’t had too many good things going on for them in 2022, at least so far.
The team just lost 8-0 to the Los Angeles Angels at home, dropping its 16th game.
Considering they only have 10 victories in the 2022 campaign, things aren’t exactly promising right now.
But one of the few positives to report as we enter May has been Rich Hill‘s performance.
The veteran left-hander has been an integral part of the rotation, and is really starting to hit his stride.
“Rich Hill hasn’t given up a run in his last 13 IP. 11 Ks over that stretch. Just 6 Hits allowed. His ERA for the season is down to 2.86,” analyst Tyler Milliken tweeted this afternoon.

Hill Looks As Good As Ever
The Red Sox lost, sure, but it wasn’t by any means Hill’s fault.
Today, he hurled five strong innings with no runs allowed.
He only conceded a hit and a walk, with six strikeouts to make his outing more dominating.
At 42, Hill continues to baffle major league hitters with his trademark curveball.
For the first time in his career, he is throwing the curveball more than the fastball.
He has used his hook 45.4 percent of the time, and his fastball 42 percent of the time.
He also has a slider and a splitter to keep batters honest.
So far, it has been a successful recipe, as his 2.86 ERA and 1.09 WHIP suggest.
If the Red Sox keep failing to play competent baseball, and Hill keeps dominating the way he has, it’s not hard to see them using him as a trade piece, hoping to fetch a prospect in return.
He may be old, but his numbers and performance don’t show his age.
