Arizona Cardinals fans have mixed feelings with Kyler Murray.
There’s a segment of fans who question the young quarterback.
However, there are other fans who sing his praises.
They believe in him, even though his play shows fans they shouldn’t believe in him.
However, things can change in 2022 if he puts in the effort to prove doubters wrong.
But for now, it appears he can’t do this.
Even with the talent he has in Arizona, there are three reasons Murray is currently overrated.
3. Murray Can’t Perform When Needed The Most
One thing Cardinals fans saw during the NFL 2021-22 season was their quarterback getting destroyed in the playoffs.
While some blame injuries to key offensive players, a superstar quarterback can overcome those problems.
However, an overrated quarterback can’t shoulder the responsibility of leading an offense in critical games.
What fans saw was Murray making mistake after mistake in a 34-11 disaster, ending any hopes of a Super Bowl last year.

He threw two interceptions, with one being a pick-six, and zero touchdowns in the losing effort.
With the hype he receives, he shouldn’t have games like this when they matter the most to the team.
2. Murray Floundered An MVP Season After Returning From Injury
The young quarterback started the 2021 season as a favorite to win NFL MVP honors.

However, he fooled all the sports pundants who believed in him.
While an injury played a role in him dropping out of the MVP race, he is also to blame as well.
He came back and lost critical games to both the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks, two division rivals.
He also lost to the lowly Detroit Lions, who only had one win when they played them.
These losses pushed the Cardinals out of becoming the NFC West division champions.
It also forced them to play their first, and only, NFL playoff game on the road.
Had he won those games, Arizona might have won at home against the team they would have faced.
However, history shows a Murray who couldn’t perform when needed.
1. Murray Is Overrated Because He’s Still Immature
The biggest reason Murray remains overrated comes from the immaturity he shows.

Warren Sapp made a significant point with not only the play of Murray but his actions after not getting a new contract.
While he believed the Cardinals should ditch the young quarterback, he’s still their best option for now.
The young quarterback shows both on the field and off that he’s immature and can’t handle pressure.
He consistently makes poor choices.
Professional NFL players can handle pressure on the field and off it as well.
However, we see him struggling to show maturity under pressure.
He scrubbed his Instagram account of nearly all Cardinals things after contract extension talks didn’t go his way.
Actions like those are more like that of a child throwing a fit when they don’t get their way.
If he doesn’t fix all these issues he has, he will continue to be an overrated player in the NFL.
