One of the most exciting, surprising stories of this NBA season is the sudden rise of the Cleveland Cavaliers and their reinvigorated spirit and athleticism.

The team has been winning more games than they have since the loss of LeBron James a few years ago.

They have become a sure thing for the postseason and some have even said they might experience the NBA Finals for the first time in years.

But now the Cavaliers are experiencing something else they haven’t in a while: a rough patch.

As Statmuse points out, the Cavs have lost 8 of their last 11 games over the last few weeks.

Because of this, the team has fallen to the sixth seed in the East – while they will definitely still make the Playoffs they are in worse shape than they have been all season long.

The Road Ahead

There are only a few weeks left in the NBA regular season which will secure the Cavs’ fate and position in the Playoffs.

That means the next batch of games will be vital for the future of the team.

But they won’t be easy.

The upcoming schedule includes games against the Philadelphia 76ers, Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks, Milwaukee Bucks, and more.

And the Cavs will be taking these teams on without one of their star players.

Cleveland’s big man, Jarrett Allen, will be out for a few more weeks due to injury.

He’s been a very important part of the team’s huge success this year, averaging 16.1 points and 10.8 rebounds per game, while shooting 67% from the field.

The Cavs will have to figure out how to survive without Allen when they need him most.

It’s not an impossible task but it sure is a challenging one and will show just how stacked and resilient this young team really is.
